Deleting your Gnap account
You can delete your account yourself, at any time, without asking anyone:
- Open Gnap and sign in
- Go to Settings
- Under Your account, tap Delete account
- Type your password to confirm
What is deleted
- Your account and your email address
- All your recipes, folders and photos
- Your shopping list and your settings
Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. If you have an active subscription, it is cancelled first, so you are not charged for a service that no longer exists.
What remains
Payment receipts stay with Stripe for the period tax law requires. They contain no recipes and no card numbers. The server's backup copies, which exist only to restore the service after a failure, keep the data for at most 7 more days; then it is deleted there too.
Deleting some of your data without closing your account
You can delete individual items at any time, right in the app:
- A recipe: open it and tap Delete. The recipe and its photo are deleted.
- A folder: in Cookbooks, open it and tap Delete folder. The recipes it contained stay in your cookbook.
- Your shopping list: in Shopping, tap Delete all. The list is stored only on your phone, never on the server.
This deletion is immediate too, and backup copies keep that data for at most 7 more days. To have other data deleted without closing your account, write to supporto@gnap.app.
If you cannot do it yourself
Write to supporto@gnap.app from the address of your account, and we will delete it for you.
